Houses built before 1970 often have lead paint under newer coats. WorkSafe Queensland says it is most likely on exterior walls, windows, doors, gutters and fascias. It is safe while sealed. It becomes a hazard when it is sanded, scraped or burnt off without control, because the dust settles in the garden and soil.
WorkSafe Queensland lists safer methods, including wet scraping, wet hand sanding and power sanders with HEPA dust extraction. Our team is trained in safe lead paint removal and follows these methods.

Dark colours absorb more heat than light ones. On timber cladding, that heat makes the boards expand and contract more, which is harder on the paint. Lighter body colours with a contrasting trim stay cooler and show off window frames and railings.

Premium paints only, from Dulux, Taubmans and Wattyl. We use exterior systems made to handle UV and moisture, and pick the primer to suit each surface. Ask Dan which products suit your house.
Late winter and early spring. August and September are Brisbane's driest months, with about 46mm of rain each, against about 140 to 160mm a month from January to March (Bureau of Meteorology averages). Exterior work runs faster with fewer rain days.
